The founder of Warriors on Waste was driven to act after growing concern over the state of the world’s oceans and the increasing visibility of plastic pollution. Disturbed by the normalization of issues like the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, they felt a personal responsibility to contribute to change. Rather than waiting on government or corporate action, they began focusing on practical, everyday ways to reduce single-use plastics and promote sustainable living. Drawing on a long-standing interest in upcycling, vintage finds, salvage, and homegrown food, they launched Warriors on Waste as a platform to share ideas, encourage action, and build a community of people committed to reducing environmental impact.
