Warriors on Waste
On a mission to remove plastic from our waterways. Lynne Lambourne has a passion for sustainability, our river & the environment. She teaches, upcycles and promotes sustainable living.

Ellie Platt
I am a costume maker and vintage fashion enthusiast with an interest in ethical and sustainable fashion.
Distraught and disgusted by the discovery that her beloved local river, the Wandle, was being routinely polluted by discharges of untreated sewage by Thames Water, textile artist and costume maker Elly Platt started crafting a response to this ongoing problem, based on her observations of the Wandle.

Anya Gleizer - Thamesis Unweaving
Faced with the dwindling of wilderness and wildness in watersheds, collapsing ecosystems or in our own human minds, Anya work towards a radical reframing of our relationship to the natural world. Her performances search for the ritualistic and the absurd in the everyday repetitions of our normalised socially-constructed madness, in the ethos of roadside BurgerKings, the trappings and tatters of the cities - centres of our chaotic civilisations.

Effluent Evidence - WORK IN PROGRESS
Effluent Evidence (Working Title), is an ongoing project using open source data to investigate Thames Water dumping of raw sewage into waterways. The data that is being used has to be provided to the public by Thames Water in accordance with the Environment Agency who asked all water companies in 2017, to start monitoring storm overflow activity.

Reconnection: A Tapestry of Then and Now
I am an artist working with plastic pollution and waste, collecting discarded materials from the very places I depict and transforming them into intricate collages. My process is slow and meticulous, piecing together rubbish to create something whole.
This project is both a personal and creative reconnection. I was born in London, where my family has lived for generations. For years, I have gathered materials from Cornwall’s shores, integrating them into my art. Now, I turn to the Thames, collecting plastic waste, documenting its journey and repurposing it into a large scale collage. No paint. No brushes. Just rubbish.
It is a process of transformation, taking what has been discarded and turning it into something that demands attention, challenging perceptions of waste and beauty. The river flows into the sea, just as this work reflects my reconnection to London. As I gather materials, I will document the process in a book, a companion to the final artwork filled with sketches, colours, notes, and its evolution.

Waterwatch UK
Waterwatch UK stands up for your right to clean water. We hold all those responsible for water pollution to account, whether it’s water companies, local authorities, regulators, or government bodies. Our mission is clear: stop sewage spills, end water contamination, and demand meaningful action. We unite communities, campaigners, and decision-makers to fight for cleaner seas, rivers, brooks, and lakes. Together, we can protect the waters that support our lives, health, and future.
